EUCHRE TOURNAMENT RULES

1. The cost to play will be _________________.

2. Partners will be determined by drawing a card at the beginning of each game. The card number determines the table and the card color determines the partners.

3. 8 played hands constitute a game and 10 games constitute a tournament.

4. The score keeper for each game will be determined by the first 9 drawn.

5. The first dealer for each game will be the person to the immediate left of the scorekeeper. The dealer never lose his/her deal. He/she continues dealing until a hand is played.

6. Penalty for reneging is 2 points to the opposing team if all 4 players are playing or 4 points to the opposing team if the hand is being played alone.

7. When the dealer turns up the trump card the player ordering the card MUST have a card of that suit in his/her hand.

EXAMPLE: If the Jack of Diamonds is turned up the person ordering the trump must have a diamond in his/her hand. The Jack of Hearts is not a Diamond until after trump has been called therefore the player cannot order the Jack of Diamonds unless he/she has a diamond other than the Jack of Hearts.

8. Each player will have a scorecard with his/her name on it. Each game you will list the name of your partner. When the game is over the score keeper will put the score on each persons card (written out next to the name and the numerical figure on the right hand side of the scorecard). The score keeper and 1 person from the opposing team will initial next to the numerical figure thus verifying the score for that game.

9. Euchres are to be noted IMMEDIATELY in the circles at the bottom of the scorecard. 1

11. Late players will not be allowed to play after the first game has started unless there are" sit outs" and a late player will even up the number of players. However. All players must be present before the 2nd hand of the first game
